From a flagship secondary school ranked among the country's best, to solar-powered wells, food security training and village-scale infrastructure, six interlocking programmes work together to make daily life more dignified across The Gambia.
With around 1,400 students, Masroor Senior Secondary School is consistently ranked among the top three secondary schools in The Gambia. It's built and run by Humanity First UK, and powered by a community of teachers, alumni and local supporters.

An on-site IT centre running a range of courses in computer skills and digital literacy. We open the door to the digital workplace for students and adults alike, with practical training that goes straight into employability.
One of our most active programmes anywhere in the world. Around 40 solar-powered wells and boreholes are installed each year, bringing clean, reliable drinking water to rural villages and ending hours of daily water collection that fall mostly on women and children.
We train farmers in modern techniques and provide seeds, fertiliser and pesticide, so families can grow enough to feed themselves and contribute back to the village. The result is community scale food self-sufficiency, year after year.
Across rural Gambia we install grinding machines and oil mills. This community owned infrastructure processes harvests on the doorstep, frees up household labour, and creates a steady income stream for the families who run them.
When floods, displacement or household emergencies hit, our local teams step in with food, shelter and direct support. They stay involved long after the headlines pass, with year-round community care for those who need it most.
