Brand guidelines

The Humanity First UK logo, colour palette and typefaces, the rules that keep them consistent, and files you can download.

The logo

Versions and usage

Use the blue version on light backgrounds and the white version on navy or photography. Never recreate it; always place the supplied files.

Humanity First logo in blue on a light background
Primary. Blue on white or cream.
Humanity First logo in white on a navy background
White on navy, dark surfaces and photography.
Humanity First square logo
Square, for designs that do not mention Humanity First by name.
Humanity First icon on its own
Icon only, for designs that mention Humanity First by name.

Clear space

Keep a margin around the logo of at least half the height of the ellipse, on every side. Nothing sits inside it: no text, no other marks, no page edges.

Minimum size

Keep the full lockup at least 140px wide on screen and about 35mm in print. Below that the strap becomes illegible; switch to the icon.

Which version

Horizontal or square, whichever suits the design. The icon stands alone only where the design mentions Humanity First by name; otherwise use a version that carries the name. On photography, add a darker overlay behind the white version rather than boxing the logo.

Logo misuse

What not to do

The logo ships as finished artwork. If a layout tempts you to adjust it, change the layout.

Don’t stretch or condense it
Don’t recolour it
Don’t add shadows or effects
Don’t rotate it
Don’t fade it
Don’t use it on low-contrast backgrounds

Accents

Red is the ask

Red belongs to the donate action and urgent appeals. It never decorates, warns or labels anything else.

Gold carries impact

Gold appears with statistics and achievements, never as a background for large areas.

Sky stays on navy

Sky blue is emphasis text on dark navy only; on white it fails contrast and is never used.

Typography

The typefaces

Each face has one role and they never swap. For design work, Montserrat and Poppins are on Google Fonts and League Gothic comes from The League of Moveable Type.

Montserrat

Headings, navigation, buttons, labels and eyebrows. Weights 500 to 800; large headings track slightly tight.

Poppins

Body copy, descriptions and captions. Weights 300 to 600; it never appears in headings, buttons or labels.

Humanity First UK responds to disasters and builds long-term capacity in health, water, education and food security across four continents.

League Gothic

Standalone impact statistics and donation amounts only, always uppercase, single weight. It is never a heading, button or body face.
