Our teams are drawn from the communities we serve, and they deliver clean water, food, shelter, education and medical aid, working in coordination with the United Nations cluster system and local partners. In the West Bank we provide emergency food and medical supplies alongside Medical Aid for Palestinians and ANERA.
Since October 2023, the people of Gaza have faced relentless bombardment, mass displacement and a near-total collapse of essential services. Over 2.3 million people, an entire population, are in acute need. Our own team has stayed on the ground throughout the crisis.
Despite the immense challenges of operating in an active conflict zone, our team has continued to reach families in Gaza City, Khan Younis and Rafah, delivering clean water, food, shelter and learning.

For years before this war, we ran long-term projects in Gaza with partners like Anera and Medical Aid for Palestinians. Together we brought families and clinics clean water, food, schooling and medical care.
More than half of Gaza's people live in poverty and around 69% do not have enough food. It is one of the most crowded places on earth, with barely any land left to farm.
With Anera, we gave seven families a rooftop garden that grows food without soil. They grow their own vegetables and even strawberries at home. A garden like this can produce up to ten times more than the same patch of open ground. That gives a family food to eat and some to sell.
Around 97% of the water from Gaza's only aquifer is unsafe to drink. Years of over-pumping and sewage have ruined it. For a health clinic, clean water is a daily problem.
With Anera, we paid for six reverse osmosis units at health facilities across Gaza. Al-Huda Health Center and the Patient's Friends Benevolent Society were two of them. Between them these clinics treat over 11,000 patients a month, who now have clean tap water.
In North Gaza we built an IT lab for blind and partially sighted people. We ran it with Al-Quds Open University, the largest distance-learning university in Palestine. The lab has braille printers, screen readers and computers set up for people who cannot see the screen.
It is open to students and to the public. For people who are often shut out by disability, it opens a way into study and work.
In May 2021 an eleven-day war pushed Gaza's health system close to collapse. It was already worn down by COVID-19. Al-Shifa is Gaza's largest hospital, and it soon ran short of basic supplies.
Through Medical Aid for Palestinians, we paid for medicine, oxygen and dialysis filters for Al-Shifa. That kept the hospital treating patients through the worst weeks.

We built an IT lab for blind and partially sighted people with Al-Quds Open University, and funded medicine, oxygen and dialysis supplies for Al-Shifa Hospital through Medical Aid for Palestinians.
