Clean water is one of the most urgent needs in Gaza. With the network damaged and fuel scarce, families across the Strip depend on water trucked in for drinking and washing. Through July 2026 our Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) team kept that supply running and began laying the infrastructure to make it steadier.
What we delivered in July
Across the month our team ran 364 water-trucking trips from the north of Gaza to the south, reaching an estimated 242,666 people with more than 1.4 million litres of clean drinking water.

A single 3,000-litre truck serves around 100 families who have no other source of clean water, three times a week. The larger 5,000 and 6,000-litre trucks reach shelters of 165 to 200 families at a time.
A new pipeline in Deir al-Balah
Alongside the trucking, our team finished a new water pipeline in Deir al-Balah that serves a displacement camp of around 200 families, about 1,000 people. It delivers roughly 5,000 litres a day for household needs like washing and cleaning.
Because the camp no longer depends on a truck arriving, waiting times there have fallen and the fleet is freed up for other areas in greater need. It also gives those families a steadier supply than trucking alone can offer.
Consistency and water quality
Water trucking ran without a break for 30 consecutive days, reaching communities in both the north and the south. Throughout the month our field teams checked the quality of the water being supplied and kept watch at the distribution points to keep the risk of contamination low.
