Although the majority of our work takes place overseas in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities, we are equally committed to supporting people here in the UK who are facing hardship. From the food poverty that emerged during the pandemic to sudden disasters like flooding, we stand ready to help.
Two permanent foodbanks, disaster response & training.
Opened in 2020 as our very first foodbank during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mirfield Foodbank in West Yorkshire continues to serve families and individuals in crisis. We provide emergency food parcels, hygiene items, household essentials, and a warm cafe space where people can enjoy a hot drink and a friendly face.
Our second foodbank, based in the West Midlands, supports hundreds of people every month who are struggling to put food on the table. We provide emergency food parcels, baby supplies, toiletries and household essentials.
When floods, storms, or other emergencies hit communities across the UK, Humanity First UK’s trained disaster response volunteers are ready. We provide relief such as hot meals, blankets, cleaning kits, and hands on help. We also train community groups and partner organisations across the UK in disaster preparedness and first aid training.
