Empowering Communities, Enhancing Education, and Improving Live
A Shea butter plant was opened near Tamale in Ghana in 2023 and is now in its third year of operation. The facility supports local employment by using an important natural resource and creating steady livelihoods for communities in the area, with a particular benefit for women involved in production.
Humanity First UK supports education in northern Ghana through 4 primary schools located in remote areas where access to learning is limited. These schools provide a reliable and safe learning environment for children who would otherwise face significant barriers to attending classes, with around 1000 students enrolled.
The Water for Life programme in Ghana provides reliable access to clean water by constructing on average 20 new solar powered wells/boreholes each year. The team also refurbishes on average 10 older unused boreholes annually, restoring safe and sustainable water sources for communities in need.
