- SAGE advises that the risk of infection outside is significantly lower than inside.
- Fines have been increased to £100 for members of public in England for breaking rules during the lockdown. The fines will be doubled for each offence by an individual and upto a total of £3,200.
- The Job Retention Scheme extended until the end of October with no changes to the scheme for the next two months. From August to October the scheme will provide flexibility to allow furloughed employees to work part-time with the costs being shared by employers.
